On Thursday, Jan 23, Luis Moure was pulled over by police in Franklin Borough after he was traveling at a high rate of speed and improperly passing vehicles on Route 23 South in Hamburg, Franklin Borough police said.
A investigation revealed Moure had an outstanding extradition warrant from Virginia, police said. He was also found to be in possession of counterfeit currency and was sought by other New Jersey law enforcement agencies for using fake money and committing theft, police said.
Moure was charged with criminal simulation, police said. Extradition to Virginia will be arranged at a later date.
While Moure remained in custody, a search warrant was executed on his vehicle and turned up over $4,000 worth of stolen over-the-counter medication from multiple locations in northern New Jersey, police said. As a result, Moure was charged with receiving stolen property, police said.
